Check Data Files

The Check Data facility lets you check the validity of your data files and, in certain circumstances, correct any data corruption. It should be run regularly before taking a back up, and after restoring your data.

The data files are examined to detect the following error conditions:

image\bullet.gifInput errors: values outside the limits of the program.

image\bullet.gifInternal inconsistencies: values that fail to correspond, or transactions that do not match up correctly.

image\bullet.gifMissing data: files or important pieces of information that are missing.

image\bullet.gifCorrupt data: damaged / unreadable data files or faulty disks.

image\bullet.gifInvalid nominal account types.

If you have any errors in your data, you can print a report detailing these errors.
